Our staff of seven summer interns were hand picked from applicants supplied to Burlington Segways by Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility. This year our guides are going to a variety of universities from UVM and St. Michaels College to St. Lawrence University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Wentworth Technical Institute, and Tufts.
They have all been personally trained by us over a period of several weeks in May and June. It took them all that time to learn the historical narrative and review the background material it comes from. They are now all professional Segway PT Tour Guides.
We hope you enjoy their guidance.
Corinne is joining us for her second season. Corinne is from Westford, Vermont. She will be a senior this fall at St. Lawrence University where she is double majoring in history and business. As a native Vermonter, she is very interested in local history and is therefore excited to be a part of the Burlington Segways team. Corinne enjoys taking advantage of Vermont’s natural landscape to go hiking, running, and skiing.
Jonah is originally from Clinton, CT, but will be a senior this fall at Saint Michael’s College. He is an Environmental Studies major, with a specific focus in environmental policy and law. In the summer, Jonah can usually be found cruising the Burlington bike path, exploring Vermont’s exceptional peaks and swimming holes, or reading down by the waterfront. Outside of school work, he spends as much of the winter as possible skiing.
Dakota is native Vermonter who grew up in Colchester, VT. He studies Industrial Design at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. Dakota is always happy to come home to Vermont to enjoy all it has to offer, such as the booming art scene and access to live music. In his free time Dakota can be often found outdoors or printing T-shirts to sell at local businesses.
Clara is from Colchester, Vermont. She will be a sophomore at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where she is majoring in mechanical engineering, focusing on renewable energy sources. American history has always been a fascinating topic for her though, and Clara is very excited to teach others about the history of Burlington. She enjoys many outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, soccer, snowboarding, ice skating and swimming in the lake.
